I am sorry I haven't posted in awhile. It's the same story that most people have....you plan to blog every weekend, but then life comes around and it's more like every month (or two). So I apologize, but here are some pictures to entertain yourself with.
Last month, we had a week long break from teaching and we took a trip to the island of Jeju, just south of Korea. Kyle's sister, Ally, was visiting from home, and so all the High kids and a few others went to Jeju. Spencer, Kyle, Katie, Ally, Maggie, myself, Jere, Michelle, Kaylee, and her mom. We move in groups.

Maggie, Spencer, Kyle, and I all stayed in Seogwipo for the first 3 days of the trip, which is on the southern side of the island. This is where the waterfalls were located, which was something we were all dying to see. Then we moved up to the north side of the island, in Jeju-si, for the remaining two days. Ally and Katie stayed up there the whole time. There we visited LoveLand, the sex park, the lava tubes, the giant crater, and the main city of Jeju. I will post pictures of general Jeju things for now, and have individual posts of what we did. I hope you enjoy! And if you ever get out to this part of the world, I would highly recommend Jeju. It was a great island with LOTS to do.
Sidenote: All of these photos were taken on our first day in Jeju! After flying into the airport, we hopped on a bus and waited patiently (as we passed all the gorgeous resort hotels) for our arrival in Seogwipo!

Our first view upon stepping out of the bus. |

These little statues are everywhere! They are the famous Jeju statues. They are placed around the island to protect people and to ward off demons from other worlds. |
This was a book we found in a little coffee shop that was down the street from our hotel. It was the cutest little shop with delicious drinks. It was a nice relief from all the travel and the 100+ degree heat that we faced. We stopped there a few times while in Seogwipo. |
When Maggie and Spencer arrived, we went walking around searching for the waterfalls. |
We found the river that led to the waterfall and followed it.... |
We were led into a temple that was surrounded by amazing lavender plants. |
This was the view of the ocean from the temple. So peaceful! |
And we found the top of the waterfall! We tried to go down but the path was closed at that hour. |
After our hunt for waterfalls, we hunted for food. After walking around for 45 minutes, we stumbled across a Korean restaurant that had pictures of cartoon ducks on the sign. Spencer thought it was funny, so we decided on that restaurant. It was a great choice. Multi course meal, delicious food, great service, and so inexpensive!! |
To end our first night in Jeju, we had batting practice. It was a great night! |
More Jeju posts to come!
